My limbs move automatically and I don’t even notice that my heart is pounding and I’m breathing heavily. I have been known to do a few extra laps of the park just because I want to find out how an exciting audio book ends.

However, in order to listen to an MP3 player you will need a sports armband pouch. 1. Get your 5 a day

You have probably heard it time and time again but eating five or more portions of fruit and vegetables every day is probably the best habit you can develop. 2. Reduce your saturated fat intake.

4. Increase your omega-3 oil intake

Omega-3 oils are anti-inflammatory agents that can help protect your heart, lubricate your joints and even stimulate your brain. They are found in seed oils such as linseed oil and oily fish such ass mackerel and sardines. You should aim to have two portions a week.

5. Increase your fluid intake

You should aim to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. Water is required for most metabolic reactions in the body so if you don’t drink enough you won’t burn those calories! If you don’t like plain water, try drinking herbal tea or drinking juicy fruits such as melons.

6. Eat breakfast

7. Go wholegrain

Wholegrain contain more nutrients than refined grains because they still contain bran and germ. Studies have shown that people who choose wholegrain over refined grains tend to be healthier.

8. Exercise

Causes of high blood pressure can be not doing enough physical activity, being overweight, drinking too much alcohol, eating too much salt in your diet and not enough fruit and vegetables.

For example, you could try reducing your alcohol intake and eating a healthier diet and see what effect this has on your blood pressure. If this doesn’t reduce it enough, you may have incorporate more exercise into your regime.

So you are planning on going skiing or snowboarding this winter. What do you take with you to ensure you stay warm this coming season? At D2D we stock twin-faced sheepskin boots and ‘ugg’, or ‘ugh’ as it is sometimes spelt, is a generic term for this style of Australian footwear, originally worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after coming in from the ocean. However, the UGG Australia brand of ugg boots is a registered trademark of the US company, Deckers Outdoor Corporation. At D2D we do not stock the UGG Australia brand. Instead we import genuine Australian boots from Wombat and Ewe by Gumbies.
