Don’t let it rain on your parade

Don’t let it rain on your parade

After a recent shopping trip I was left positively unenthralled by this season’s colours: black, beige, grey and even greige. Personally, I find that as the days become colder and the evenings darker, I need something bright and fun to banish the blues, or should I say blacks and greys. So when choosing an umbrella, how it looks is my number one priority. Living in Britain, the practicality of my umbrella is a given. Any umbrella that can’t stand up to our gale force winds and won’t keep me dry is not worth having at all. That’s I was particularly drawn to these lovely lace effect T-box umbrellas.

They are sturdy and practical – the domed shape will ensure that I stay dry - as well as fun and pretty. They feature a lovely lace design in 5 great colours with hanging silver-coloured charms on the handle. For me the lace design, elegant shape and feminine colours evoke the umbrella that style icon Audrey Hepburn carried as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

So make sure you check out D2D today to get your hands on one of these fun and stylish T-box umbrellas.

Trick or Treat your children to a fun torch this Halloween

Trick or Treat your children to a fun torch this Halloween

Halloween is creeping up on us again and so are the dark nights. If your children will be going trick-or-treating this year, here are some top tips for keeping safe.

• Stay close to home and only the visit the houses of people you know.

• Throw away any sweets that have already been opened.

• Always stay on the pavement where possible.

• Wear reflective or light coloured clothing so that you can be seen.

• Carry a torch!

At D2D we recommend this fun dynamo pig torch to shed light on all the ghosts and ghouls lurking in your neighbourhood. Children will love the novelty design and you won’t have to worry about flat batteries, it’s powered by hand-pressure! You simply squeeze to activate and two super bright beams of light come shining out of its nostrils. This fun yet practical torch will help your little piggies stay safe all the way home.

What’s more, the fun is not limited to Halloween as this handy little fella can be brought out time and time again. Once you have survived the spooks and spectres, this pink dynamo pig torch is perfect for trekking through fields to your local firework display or while having fun with sparklers in the garden on Bonfire Night. It’s also great for taking out Christmas carolling, camping or walking the dog or even simply as a fun toy to use in tree houses and dens. So go on, trick or treat your children this Halloween!

Inflatable Travel Music Pillow

Sweet dreams are made of these…

Scientists claim that that the average adult needs to sleep for seven to eight hours every night. Well, that’s easier said than done! Despite all good intentions, many of us lie awake in bed, feeling exhausted but not actually being able to drift off. We lead such hectic lives that it becomes impossible to switch off; to let go of today’s stresses and to forget for a moment the challenges of tomorrow.
Everyone has a different strategy for getting to sleep. Some of us count sheep; others enjoy a relaxing bath or a mug of warm milk. I personally find that listening to music, a podcast or an audio book helps me fall asleep. However, my earphones can sometimes become uncomfortable or the cords tangled up, especially if I roll over. That is why I was thrilled to come across this musical pillow. What a wonderful invention! The speakers are built inside the pillow so there is absolutely no need for headphones. You simply connect the pillow to your iPod or MP3 player, CD or DVD-player or computer and you can listen in comfort to your favourite soothing songs. You can control the volume of the sound so only you can hear the music and your partner can sleep in peace. What’s more, the U-shape makes it just as comfortable for use in the car or on an aeroplane as in your own bed at home.

So if you, like me, find that listening to music helps you to wind down and get to that elusive land of nod, or if you haven’t yet found what works best for you, I would definitely recommend giving this musical pillow from D2D imports a try. They call it a “great aid in stress reduction and relaxation.”
who am I to disagree?
