UGG or Ugg Boots – What’s the difference?

UGG or Ugg Boots – What’s the difference?

At D2D we are often asked if we stock ugg boots. Well, we do sell Ugg boots, but not UGG boots. The difference is all in the capital letters. At D2D we stock twin-faced sheepskin boots and ‘ugg’, or ‘ugh’ as it is sometimes spelt, is a generic term for this style of Australian footwear, originally worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after coming in from the ocean. However, the UGG Australia brand of ugg boots is a registered trademark of the US company, Deckers Outdoor Corporation. At D2D we do not stock the UGG Australia brand. Instead we import genuine Australian boots from Wombat and Ewe by Gumbies.

Wombat

Wombat specialises in premium quality Australian boots. A recent addition to D2D, we currently stock two styles: Wombat Classic Sheepskin and Wombat Microfiber Boots. Both styles come with a canvas dust bag for storage.

The Wombat Classic Sheepskin boots are lovingly made in Australia from the finest quality Australian twin-faced sheepskin and are ideal for the cold winter months. With a hard-wearing sole and heel reinforcement these boots are a paragon of style, practicality and comfort, perfect for the cold winter months.

To win a pair worth £80 please check out our Wombat competition.

For the more modest budget we also offer Wombat Microfiber boots. These boots also feature a hard-wearing sole but instead of being made from sheepskin are lined with warm and snugly faux fur.

EWE by Gumbies

At D2D we offer one style from the Ewe by Gumbies range. These stylish two-tone boots are made from durable cow suede. The heel is reinforced to prevent the collapse that often occurs with lower quality boots. Lined with real wool, these boots are super snugly and are great for indoor as well as outdoor wear. The tabs on the side make them easy to slip on and off.

Please check out D2D for more information.
